Flaming Gorge continues. . .

Did we make it home to Idaho or have we made up permanent residence in Dutch John Utah? I am sure the suspense has been killing you. Well, now is the time to set your hearts at ease.
Travis went into the local gas station with the power outage, the gas station closed all but the back door. Some nice guys tried to help but there wasn't anything they could do to better our situation. Then the power came back on and we didn't know for how long. We rushed over to the gas pump and filled up my Aunt Debbie's car and drove back to the camp site hoping we would come upon some inspiration.
Travis called our insurance and we have roadside assistance. YAY! However, the only guy that could come tow our car to a mechanic in Rock Springs was coming from Vernal, UT. Travis, the brave man, decided to stay with our car and Debbie, my cousin Emily, Olivia and myself would start the long drive back to Centerville, UT. We left my husband in the pouring rain with our car as we headed out of town. Meantime Travis realizes he has no car keys. OH NO, my cell phone was dead and Debbie was using Jeff's cell phone which Trav didn't have the number for. YIKES! We were several miles away innocently driving further away from Travis with his car keys. Thank goodness that Debbie looks down to see a set of car keys that were not hers. Turning around we went back and gave Travis the car keys. Also exchanging accurate phone numbers. By this time we are all feeling tired, anxious, and lets be honest, we were ready to get the heck out of there.
Olivia happy to get headed home!
We made it half way and called Travis to see if the tow truck made it. . .Travis said he didn't and that he would have to stay the night in Flaming Gorge. . .JUST KIDDING! That is what Trav said but the truth was that the nice guy, BOB, who was driving the tow truck got to Travis and when he heard the problem he took a look at our car and fixed it, yes you heard me right Bob, our knight in shining armor fixed our car. Travis was just an hour behind us heading home. What a blessing.
The morale to this story is, everyone who left us behind, feel bad! HA HA, we are so blessed and grateful for an enjoyable time, family we were able to spend time with and all the good people of Dutch John and Bob.

Hi Amy! Sounds like you guys had quite the trip to Flaming Gorge. Glad everything worked out okay.

I think we might take a road trip to Rexburg in October. Ya, I've been missing Idaho. Sounds weird, huh? I know. Anyway, drop me your phone # via email and maybe we can see you when we're there.
