Daddy's pulling out the shot gun

It all began one beautiful day at the grocery store a week ago. . .Travis, Livy and I were just doing some normal grocery shopping when it happened. A cute young family with 2 little girls and 1 little boy happened to be in the same isle as us. Those little girls started talking with Livy and playing with her. Liv's is the social little butterfly and loves other children. She talked, waved and enjoyed the moment of making new friends. Then suddenly the little boy who is probably no more than 5 or 6 years of age, came into Livy's view. She stopped playing with the little girls and focused all her attention on this boy who didn't even notice her. She then did what as a mother you dread. She started flirting. Now this was no ordinary batting of the eyes or sweet smiles this was full on . . .dare I say. . .blowing kisses!

I know you are all in shock as I am. She wouldn't even give the time of day to the other girls that were trying for her attention. She just focused on this little boy, who was now not quite sure what to do. She wouldn't stop. She kept blowing one kiss after another. I asked her to wave or some other friendly gesture. We then parted ways and continued our shopping. Well, towards the end of our trip we were headed down the last isle and there was the BOY again. I thought, for sure she wouldn't do it again. I was so wrong. There was that kid and our daughter started at it all over again. Blowing kisses and smiling. We started towards the register to check out and the boy was smitten. He followed us to the checkout stand and stood there grinning while my daughter continued her public display of affection.

I know what you are all thinking. . .so cute, how fun. Well, yesterday when I went back to the grocery store with THE FLIRT. We saw a cute little 16month old boy. Yet again, she smiled and began her blowing kisses. She blew him kisses till he was out of sight.

I throw my arms up. She doesn't do this with everyone. She usually only does it when we ask her to. Now by her own choice my baby is giving away her precious kisses.

What shall I do? Is it time for the "We don't kiss on the first encounter" or "dating when you are 16" family home evenings?

****WARNING TO ALL BOYS-don't let this smile fool you, she may be cute but she is too young!

I'm laughing. Libby loves boys too and she always has preferred them over girls. Tay is nervous and is already coming up with threats he will use against guys when she starts to date. Maybe he and Trav will have to work together as a team and follow our little girls once they start dating.

I can't say I'm suprised even a little. She's super cute and has a personality to match! I'm sad I don't get to see her more. But the stories about her are always entertaining! BTW, I'm in Utah for a bit, so if you're headed this way anytime in the next couple week(I'm here til the 20th), let me know! I'd love to see you!
