I can't find myself

Alright, we are moving to Lander in less than a week. I haven't been so good at packing, obviously by my time spent blogging I am procrastinating as best as I can. I went camping last week. (post about that to follow) This week I am feeling the joys of being a woman and I look around my house and am overwhelmed by the ever growing amount of STUFF we have accumulated. My house is an absolute wreck. Olivia's room is all packed but all her toys are in the living room and she is having a great time helping me pack. Why do we move with a toddler in tow? I put one thing in a box she takes out 2 and adds other things that don't belong in that box. Well, finally nap time has come and Livy and I were reading a book and I found a poem in it that describes my house.

A MESSY ROOM by Karen Jo Shapiro

I made a mess.
I let it go.
I used more toys.
The mess did grow.

I lost some crayons.
I spilled some glue.
I pulled out books.
The clutter grew.

And every time
that I would play
I did not put
my things away.

Soon stuff covered
all the floor.
"That's what," I said,
"the floors are for."

Junk all around,
Mess on each shelf.
Till the day I could not
find myself!

I'm not in the middle of a move and that's exactly how my house (or more just my room) seems. I wish I had an excuse for myself. Good luck though!

Why are you moving?

I know the feeling all too well! Packing and moving with a toddler is oh-so-much fun. They are so curious and want to help so much but it takes twice as long to get things done doesn't it? :) Good luck with the move!

YEA! We'll be seeing you SO soon! All you have to do is get it all in boxes. You can sort it out in two, maybe three years down the road. (Yep, we still have stuff in boxes...) You just compensate by buying stuff you probably have in boxes, but don't have the time to look through and find!! Then one day we'll have an awesome garage sale! When the kids go to college could be a good time to empty boxes.

Cute poem! I tell myself all the time whenever Libby's stuff is all over the house that someday we won't have toys everywhere and I just might miss it. It helps sometimes.

Hey - we are going private ASAP and I need your email if you want to read! Thanks! If you just leave a comment on my privacy post I won't let anyone else see it! THX!

So who was the author of that poem? That is how I feel frequently, and we're not moving! Hope the move goes well.
