Time to read. . .

I love to read. I love to read with my daughter.

I was inspired by a friend who posted about the old classic books she used to read and now her daughter is enjoying. Books like; Where The Sidewalk Ends, Socks for Supper, and one of my favorites, But No Elephants. So I have been anxious to visit my Mom and pull out all the classics and share them with Liv. We have some new favorites. Liv loves Skippyjon Jones books right now.

Tomorrow is March 2nd. That was Dr. Seuss' birthday and also Read to Kid's Day! YAY!! We love Dr. Seuss books, one of my favorites is Oh, the Places You'll Go! Travis' favorite is, I Had Trouble in Getting to Solla Sollew. Liv is still discovering the wonders of Dr. Seuss.

I found this quote by Anita Merina
It's never too cold,
too wet or too hot
To pick up a book
And share what you've got

You're never too old,
too wacky, too wild
To pick up a book
And read to a child

In churches and chambers
Let's gather around
Let's pick up a book
Let's pass it around

There are children around you
Children in need
Of someone who'll hug
Someone who'll read. . .

I really love the lines: You're never too old, too wacky, too wild To pick up a book And read to a child

SO, I hope tomorrow and everyday brings each of you good reading!

I love the Skippy John Jones books. :) They are so entertaining. Good for you for reading with Liv. I love taking my niece and nephew to the library to get a wide variety of books. Have you read the pigeon books? Particularly the Pigeon wants to drive the bus.. (I think thats what its called.) Funny stuff! Anyways, I can't wait to have kids to read to.

Libby LOVES to read so it's something we do often around here. I'm hoping it's something she will enjoy for a long long time. Happy reading to you and Liv!
